Seventeen is a New York-based bimonthly teen magazine published in the United States. The magazine is produced by the Hearst Corporation in New York City and targets ladies aged 13 to 19.
Since its premiere in August 1944 in New York City. It began as a newspaper aimed at encouraging young women to be role models in the workplace and as citizens. Seventeen developed a more fashion and romance-oriented style to presenting its information soon after its launch, emphasizing young women’s self-confidence.
From September 1944 through September 1946, it was published in New York City by Walter Annenberg’s Triangle Publications and The Atlantic Monthly Company.
