Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro created Bottega Veneta in Vicenza, Veneto, in 1966. Its Intrecciato leather-weaving became a hit right away. Bottega Veneta received a new “stealth wealth” pulse after being bought by the Gucci Group in 2001. The school of leather workmanship, La Scuola dei Maestri Pellettieri di Bottega Veneta, was founded in 2006 and has been based in Montebello Vicentino since 2013.
